Transforming a Steep Slope into a Family-Friendly Backyard

What started as a steep, unusable slope in the Moldenhauer family’s Parker, Colorado backyard is now a stunning two-tiered outdoor oasis.

EarthWorks Landscaping excavated over 20 tons of soil to create two level areas supported by engineered retaining walls and connected by stairs. The upper level features a 600 sq. ft. Trex composite deck perfect for gatherings while the lower level offers 1,200 sq. ft. of lush Kentucky bluegrass for kids and pets to enjoy.

To complete the transformation, our team added mountain granite for drainage and texture, planted eight trees for privacy, and installed over 30 shrubs and perennials for a natural finish.

The result: a functional, beautiful, and low-maintenance backyard that grows with the family  proof that even the steepest yards can become dream spaces.
